James McConvill & Associates’ international family team is led by Dr James McConvill, who has worked as a lawyer both in Australia and overseas, and is admitted to practice in three jurisdictions (Australia, the UK and British Virgin Islands).

Through dealing with international family law issues on a regular basis, James McConvill & Associates has developed a network of family law contacts throughout the world, and especially in the US and the UK. We have recently also established a serviced office in New York City to handle cross-border Australia/US family law matters.
We act for clients both in Australia and overseas needing our expert assistance to resolve family law proceedings in Australia (either in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia or Family Court of Australia). We regularly assist expatriate Australians living overseas who need to resolve their matrimonial/ de facto relationship property matters in Australia.
Our international family law team leader Dr James McConvill has written articles on family law for publications in the United Kingdom, as well as in Australia, including the prestigious International Journal of Law, Policy and the Family (published by Oxford University Press).
